2. Love nature. Surfing is all about. using your means (mind, body and board ) whilst flowing with nature trying to catch an opportunity (wave). Enjoy the journey.

3. Cultivate your instinct. Sense opportunities and go for the ones that suit you.

4. Suitable is a relative term. Be your own scale of things. Stay humble and be a super realist in assessing your capabilities, do not let your ego interfere.

5. Develop your potential at full by cultivating your body and mind. You need a strong mind, as it is panic and not the sea which drawns us.

6. Catching waves is a matter of positioning and timing, but it does not come without a good technique. Master the technique.

7. Learn from others. There is nothing more reliable than 1000 years of local experience. Waves tend to come where locals await.

8. Your eyes may betray you, everything. seems smaller from the shore. Get closer.

9. The sea dictates the direction of things. Don’t fight it, move accordingly.

10. Execute superbly. If you are going for a wave, never hesitate.

11. If caught by a big set or a sudden storm, wait. Calmer waters will come, thats the time to get out.

12. Be kind when judging your results or anyone else’s. Effort and ability matter but success is always at mercy of nature’s will.
